Rand who was the general manager and attorney for the Florida Land andColonization Co. and general freight agent of the South Florida Railroad. The officesof Sanford's first newspaper, The Sanford Journal were located on the second floorduring the 1890's. Sanford's early telephone exchange was also located here.
