TheMediterranean Revival building was completed in 1994 and surrounds an earlierstructure built in 1957 and expanded in 1974. Established in 1957 as a memorial to thecity's founder, Henry S. Sanford, the museum today houses exhibits dealing with thehistory of the city as well as the life and times of its founder. A local history archives andresearch library is also available to the public. The Sanford Museum is openTuesday-Friday, 11:00-4:00 and Saturdays 1:00-4:00. Admission is free. Group tours byappointment.
